What is FMS and why is it an important first step?
FMS (Functional Movement Screen) is gold standard for assessing movement quality. The test consists of 7 fundamental movement patterns that provide insight into your body’s current condition and the quality of your basic movement mechanics. The results support a personalized approach to exercise and training design and give a clear picture of your musculoskeletal system, crucial for injury prevention and long-term health. At Titan Fitness, FMS testing is a mandatory part of our assessment protocol and is performed with every client before starting the training process.

What FMS testing looks like at Titan Fitness
FMS testing at Titan Fitness takes 30 minutes and includes 7 fundamental movement patterns that reveal how your body moves during everyday tasks. The test is simple and not physically demanding, and your coach will guide you through every step. After the assessment, you receive a results review and clear recommendations for next steps. Here’s how the full process works:
Do I need FMS testing?
Wear workout clothes and athletic shoes. We perform FMS without a warm-up, because the goal is to observe your authentic movement patterns, the way you naturally move in everyday life.
Testing
The FMS assessment includes seven fundamental movement patterns. Each movement is carefully observed and scored to evaluate stability, strength, and mobility in key areas of the body. Based on your score, you’ll receive a clear analysis of your movement quality and recommendations for corrective exercises to improve function and reduce injury risk.
Consultations
Immediately after the assessment, your coach will review your results with you and explain what they mean in a simple, easy-to-understand way. You’ll get clear guidance on which exercises to include, modify, or avoid in your training, along with recommendations for your next steps.
Training
If you decide to implement the training recommendations at Titan Fitness, we’ll help you choose the most suitable package from our offer and provide a personalized training plan with coach supervision and progress tracking, based on your results and ongoing progress.
